Trash

She pulls the ribbon from her hair, looking both directions to see if she's alone. The wind casts a slight breeze through the trees. Rippling the water on the pond, she steps through the tall grass as her feet get wet.

This is the time she says, "I mean, this time I will be clean. No longer will I be a vagrant to my soul, no longer will I pass the sign that leads to my heart's desires."

The water now to her knees, she dips her finger tips in, bringing the water to her face. "Wash me clean of all dirt that's built up and made me cold. Shielding me from what's right and true."

"Why?" she screams, "Why!"

The complexity of her anxieties start to peal once her body is fully engulfed.
